Preparing for Spiritual
Direction
To prepare for a spiritual direction
session, we ask that you prayerfully reflect on the questions
presented below. You can send your responses by e-mail, or by snail
mail to your director.
To send by e-mail, overline the questions
with your mouse, then select Edit/Copy from the top menu bar of your
browser. Then open your e-mail program to a new message and move the
cursor into the body of your e-mail. select Edit/Paste to insert the
questions in your email. Address the e-mail to your director with a
Subject of your choice, then you can close it and work on it at your
convenience, sending it when you're done.
To send by snail mail, do the same as above,
only paste the questions in a new word processing
document.
Reflection Questions (do as many as you wish)
- What has been the general
spiritual "tone" of your life lately? You might express this in
terms of colors, temperature, aromas--anything that helps you to
articulate your experience.
- What events, experiences,
relationships, etc. have communicated to you a sense of God's
presence?
- What events, experiences,
relationships, etc. have communicated to you a sense of God's
absence?
- Describe your manner of prayer
lately. How well does your prayer help you to experience conscious
contact with God?
- What kinds of decisions in
your life have you searching for a sense of God's
will?
- In what area of life do you
sense God calling you to growth? What can you do to honor
this?
- What kind of feedback would
you like at this time from your spiritual director?
- Anything else you want to talk
about? (Open forum)
