Dear Phil:
I haven't visited shalomplace since my little
'WHAT IS THIS?' post! Many have told me that they don't have to worry about what i am thinking...I usually let everyone know!!
You asked if i was leaving the Church? No way...never! gracious, as Peter said to the Lord in John 6, when he was asked, are you leaving as well. Smart Peter replied [my paraphrase]" and where would I go, Jesus...you are the Truth.
No, I LOVE the Church...yep, new convertitis...but you know, I pray I never lose that inflammation, so to speak. I pray daily that i will always be zealous for the Church which is the same, to me, as being zealous for my Lord..the founder.
you are right,,we like to 'check people out' by how they go by the boook...and yes, there is pluralism [am learning that and have accepted that]. And true, Catholics are a Eucharistic people...without belief in the Real Presence of our Lord in the Eucharist, Catholicism collapses...as you noted. Problem is there are alot of foxes out there who, if we remain too quiet and acquiescent, will steal the Eucharist from us. Those foxes are priest who no longer believe and tell their congregations it is no longer necessary to believe in the Real presence. Such foxes as this will steal the chickens, my friend. And from what i am told modernism is rampant...here, in Canada, and in many other countries. IMVHO, the modernist/liberals will soon be announcing the Catholic church as just another denomination! God forbid! We must pray daily that the Holy Spirit, who will not let the gates of Hell prevail against the Church, will come into full action.
I pray that there are vigilant watchdogs out there, Phil...but Rome already is distressed by the Americanization of the Catholic Church...but I will continue to spend most of my time going to Daily Mass --thank be to God for an orthodox community here--praying and meditating.
Thanks, Phil....and am looking forward to July 19th when the retreat on Love begins.
blessings, and grace,
anne
