how kind of your to reply to my little rampage! :) It has diminshed somewhat....but no! the honeymoon isn't over. Not by a long shot! I pray i never ever lose that new bride feeling!!! I am a zealot type but am praying to be a more loving zealot rather than such a judgmental zealot!
My friend, we will both find an appropriate joke someday for this ranting of mine! :) but, until then, your frienship gives me much joy. But back to the joke stuff: every morning I get up, look at this ole self in the mirror [just the face--i am never ready for full-mirror early morning disclosure of my aging body!]...anyway, I get up, look in the 'facial' mirror and say: Lord, help me to lighten up! OK? then I really 'look' at what is looking back at me in that mirror and break out in hearty laughter! Can't help it! When i get that 'serious' look, I crack my own self up!!!
I will truly look into the 2 books you recommended, April....MYSTICAL THEOLOGY and BEDES GRIFFITHS...have heard of the latter but don't remember what I heard...except it was good! and already i like the book...."in the knowledge of the heart, we find a profound sharing in the mystery of godliness." Ah...yes, in the heart! All things of good and lasting value find themselves in the heart....and I pray daily that my 'heart' be enlarged more and more with His Kind and Loving Ways.
You and Phil are so correct...we have unity with variety of opinions, viewpoints. I tend to now refer to them as 'brands'. You know, in the ole Wild Wild West, you branded your cattle so everyone will which cows belonged to which owner. Well, in Catholicism we have the "LC"...liberal Catholics; the "TC".,..traditional Catholic..the "OC"...the orthodox Catholic...ad infinitum, but there is one main ingredient: Catholic. As long as one believes that the Church is the Mother Church; that Jesus is present in the Eucharist...then we are in 2 ways...Catholic. It is interesting --the different views. i am sure many get as aggravated with 'my' view [orthodox leaning toward traditional] as I get with the liberal ones.
But, unity can become even more unified in love, right!
ah, April...how good it is to see your smiling face on shalomplace! You and i got to improve on the joke stuff!! In fact, there are some puns I will have to send to the joke section on the WWW Boards....hehehehehehe...April, you will love them!!!
