you know, that "keys of the kingdom" exegesis, where we wonder why Peter got the keys when Martha didn't even though both confessed him as the Christ, reminded me of another lack of parity of response in the gospels

poor Zacharias says: "But this is impossible!" and was struck dumb

little Mary says: "But how can this be?" and Gabriel was cool with that

go figure

still, Jesus knew what he was doing, we play that game in the corporate arena: we never give meaningful remuneration if an employee will otherwise be
satisfied with a mere job title! and neither must any substantive authority necessarily be allocated in the process

accordingly, the joke is on Peter, because most folks are being let in the back door by Mary! the side door by Martha! and the window by Magdalene!

who was the *patriarch* on the birth control commission who was afraid to change the church's constant teaching because it wouldn't be fair in light of all the people the Magisterium had previously sent to hell? and who the enlightened gentle-lady who asked him:"What makes you so sure God executed your orders?"

women have been given the all the power in heaven and on the earth to participate in transformation of wills and salvation of souls---may this not so hidden reality be reflected in the visible structure of the church one day is my prayer and prophetic protest!

Happy Labor Day in the Vineyards,
