Hi again, Catherine. I'm glad you've found this exchange helpful. Sounds like you've done a lot of good reading and spiritual work in your life.
: I had one more idea that I forgot. Does the church teach that there are different types of glory in heaven based on how much people loved on earth.
Well, Jesus taught about places at the table in the kingdom, first and last in the kingdom, etc. There are teachings about levels of angelic spirits--cherubim, seraphim, archangels, and so forth, and some reflect God more fully than others, but that is more about how God created them than their developmental maturity.
Because the soul does develop through a lifetime, its level of development would enable it to a deeper or more shallow reception of God's love. Heaven will be a place where a soul will be completely satisfied, and so simple souls will get all they can contain and will be happy. But those which have developed more will receive more, and will be happy as well.
So, in that vein, our human development is important. The more we grow, the more we deeply we can love and manifest God.
Peace,
Phil
