Ahh, Johnboy. That is a very good "bottom line" stance you have articulated, here.
I have often disagreed with St. Paul's statement, to the effect that if our faith is untrue, then we are the most miserable of people. It's the best way to live, even if it turns out not to be truth. But, as you pointed out, such is not the testimony of those who have gone deeply into this faith in an experiential way.
