johnboy: don't know if this is called a coincidence or Godcidence....but earlier this p.m. I was checking out the Tan Books website and behold! found e-texts. These are books offered online by Tan. So, I was gazing away and there, presto! saws one I liked...THREE WAYS OF THE SPIRITUAL LIFE. So, saved it to disk...and scanned a bit of it...and promised to read it later on. Well, read as much as I can each day as it is NOT short!
So, I put out the sprinklers [too dry here]. After awhile, decided to check out shalomplace.com and see what is on the WWW Boards.
And what do I find!!!! Your article as titled..and sat reading it and thought....hmmmmm... 3WAYS in the url and wondered if it was the same. And presto, it is!
So, I have to say that I would like very much to get into what these different calls by the Spirit might be, but would like to truly read some of the book.
Frankly, johnboy, the "Direttori mistico etc.....sounds Greek to me [even though i think it is Latin]!
I truly hope the book tells the difference between remote, proximate, sufficient and/or efficacious call. Otherwise, I am as lost as a little lamb.
But it do sound interesting as does anything concerned with contemplation AND Calls by the Spirit.
Hopefully you have read the book and can now translate and thereby answer the question you asked: "What are all these different CALLS by the Spirit?"
