: Between fallen humanity and Christ, there are no intermediate stages. There was a cultural evolution in Judaism which helped to form the human psyche so that we could receive Christ, but that's not the same thing as ontological development (to use a term very popular on this thread).
Fe - I appreciate what you are saying here and I affirm the "ontological discontinuity", the leap, the lack of stages. See my posting entitled:
Re: Christ OS and upgrades: it is scalable -
As I struggle to grasp Philoman's view of his own paradigm, I am, at the same time, going off in my own directions and perhaps attempting to raise a structure that is "off his foundation", so to speak.
I suppose what I am trying to account for is the growth in virtue, the decline of vices on the journey, the flowering of the fruits of the Spirit which occurs incrementally. Does my justification versus sanctification distinction help our mutual understanding here?
As for virtues and vices, good habits and bad, addictions and fixes, they are perfect analogies for TSR (temporary stay resident) programs, sitting there in RAM (random access memory). Some of them are debilitating enough, the bad habits and addictions, and to make matters worse, they are resource hogs!
I think of people and their gifts per Cor 12 as application programs for lawyers, doctors, indian chiefs, etc and of PxOS making them more fully functional in accordance with their original plan! But the expansion of the paradigm is another thread!
Thanks for the clarification - I definitely see your point.
