: A question for you, Mr. Wise Guy: with the Second Law of Thermodynamics stating that energy moves to an ever more dispersed and static state, how does one explain the existence of life on earth? Where did the intelligence and "push" against the Second Law come from?

Far be it from me to step between you two gentlemen and try to arbitrate, but, in terms of OS evolution, you have to posit and outside human intelligence who is the source of this energy, push, and the guiding intelligence. At this time, an OS does not evolve itself, although its capacity for self-correction and stabilization is becoming impressive.

I suppose, Fe, that the most obvious response to your question would be that the Divine is the Source of the push behind evolution. I'm not sure what Ivan and others who are attuned to biology will say, but I'll be watching.
