As some of you know, the board has been a little flaky lately, with topics disappearing, users unable to log in, and slowness. I've rebuilt the databases a couple of times, but it keeps happening.
I'm looking into several options now, but might have to make this one "read-only" for awhile if the problems continue.
In the meantime, take a look at the board at http://shalomplace.org/eve/ubb.x which is what I've been using for the Premium (paid) groups. You can click around in the Announcements and Orientations forum to see how it works -- pretty much the same. The easiest thing for me to do would be to simply start up new forums on that board, with links to a few popular discussions on this one, which would continue to be available as read-only (search option would remain).
Questions? Comments?

That's probably how I missed that interesting thread on apophatic spirituality. The other forum software does look more modern.

Folks, go ahead and start registering a user name at http://shalomplace.org/eve/ubb.x You'll see the Login/Register link at the top right of the forum index. You can use the same info you've been using here, of course.
I'll be setting up new forums there real soon and eventually turning this board into a read-only archive. We can continue some of the same discussions, and link to those here in the opening post of a topic for reference sake.

OK, we've got it figured out, I think. This board will be imported to the one at http://shalomplace.org/eve/ubb.x and everything should move -- all the forums, posts, user accounts, etc. That will happen today. More info after that's done.
