I am a widow of 3 yrs. My husband and I were in a ministry called Agape Force for 10 years, then we worked for Jimmy SXwaggart for 13 years. He owned a sound and lighting company for 6 years and then was killed in a car accident. I have two very wonderful sons. One is 20 and majors in music at the local college. The other is 10 and keeps me on my toes! I committ my life every day to the Lord. That is my only strength.

I'm very pleased to have found this blessed site and the opportunity to share with you my work. I'm the author of "A Young Girl's Crimes", which is a highly gripping and controversial Christian novel about one young woman's descent into murder and sexual perversion and attempt to redeem herself through moral spiritual Biblical values. But can she escape her dark past? It's based on my study of real-life case histories of women and girls who started out doing "bad things" but change their lives for good through God. I molded these factual stories into the story of one girl, Flora. I HOPE YOU'LL CHECK OUT THE LINK I HAVE PROVIDED HERE and give my book a read, it will give you a powerful realistic understanding of mortal sin and spiritual redemption, and I'm told its an extremely entertaining read as well. Please email me afterwards with your thoughts. Thanks very much for supporting a young new author :).

I hold a Ph.D. in modern US history. Teaching used to take place at UGA--Athens. On 7/2/96, a truck hit my helmet-free head, causing such an injury that the arriving ambulance detected no pulse due to blood loss. Drs. gave a 2% chance of awakening from coma. Five weeks later, this happened. Why? Seventy medical journal articles tell how--the power of prayer. Life since has been extraordinarily trying. But the presence of God above and within has dimly opened my eyes. I am now seeking to give thanks and praise through writing a book along with setting up a corporation, Christian Aspiration Artistry, Inc., to market my many inventions. I believe it possible for people to appreciate, revere, and honor America's long-neglected dream of being a land of opportunity and a Christian crucible. This site seems to fill a profound need in nearly elegant fashion. Jonathan

I'm a 42 year old single woman of south Indian origin. Raised a Syrian catholic, my spiritual search led me to medititation. Zen meditation (without Koans) with my feet firmly grounded in Christianity is the way that I feel at home with. Christian mystics like Theresa of Avila, St. John of the Cross impress me deeply. I used to know the English Benedictine monk, Dom Bede Griffiths (www.bedegriffiths.com) personally for 9 years and he was my spiritual guide until his death in 1993. I'm an Oblate of the Benedictine Order. I need a new beginning as I'm rather new to Sydney (lived in Germany for 13 years before arriving here). I would love to hear from like minded spirits around the world. bede_priya@hotmail.com

God is kind. He broke me years ago reducing me to nothing. Stripping me of any and all forms of worldliness. I desire nothing much but to serve my Lord with all my heart, soul, mind, body & spirit. Mu heart is for" missions" . The Great commision, evangelization, teaching, ministering, discipleship, stewardship, preaching, witnessing through my daily life and always ready led by the spirit to be the welcoming arms of Christ to all and to give a testimony of what God has done for me. I work @ Sifford Pontiac GMC Trucks in Bogota/Hackensack,Service department. I am the mother of three, two sons ages:20,21 & a daughter 18. I am divorced by choice and live a life for Christ. I do not drink, smoke anything, take drugs etc. I try with God's help to keep my body & mind clean. My love of scripture and God's ways are important to me. God has been kind in my appearance. @53 I look in my mid-thirties. Dark hair, green eyes, light skin. I am of a multi-cultural mix. My father was Irish/English/Welsh/Polish"American", my Mother"Italian/Sicilian"-American. I am presently a volunteer on the Ridgefield Park AAmbulance in the capacity of EMT-D. I am also in training for the Red Cross/Disasster. In my village I am active in the fourth of July planning and most of all attend Mass every day in the house of our Lord @ St.Francis of Assisi Church. Anyway that God can utilize me for his instrument is my heart. Servitutude is my heart. To be humble, obedient, faithful and true according to all that God states in scripture. I love Jesus and have since a young girl of 4 or 5. Thank you, JoAnne/Athaleyah2

I am a Roman Catholic who has followed the Carmelite spirituality of John of the Cross & Teresa of Avila having reached the point where I can identify with the experiences of Marguerite Porete, the Lowland mystic who was burned at the stake in Paris in 1310. I had come to first experience the 'disappearance' of God in the Prayer of Simple Union; and the 'disappearance' of self after Transformed Union. I am seeking other information from others or additional authors relating to this, so as to evaluate its authenticity for further discernment through faith. P.F. Healy

I work with homeless alcohol and drug abusers and theological reflection on the place of this work in the church's apostolate. I take an 'incarnational' approach by living in a poor inner city area; the house was a brothel. I am the author of Mission on the Margins (available through Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk.)Therefore some of my time is taken up with speaking at conferences, to colleges where people are being trained for the ministry, and so on.

Hello. I happened to stumble upon this site by accident. I am so glad I did. I got into Buddhism a few years ago and began to practice Zen. Though I am grateful for the medatative techniques I have learned through the practice, deep down inside I felt something was missing. I began to go back to my Christian roots and discovered so much hidden treasures I did not know existed. To make a long story short, I am neither a Buddhist or a Christian(in the traditional sense of saviour and saved)but have learned to just rest in contemplation and sit and wait. In the few months of just practising this much fruit has come of it even more so than the few years spent in disciplined, rigid, ritualistic Zazen. Please know that I am not putting Zen down. I just needed to find what I sought in my own roots. Thank you so much for your encouraging words.

I can't tell you how excited I was after I read Phil's profile - the dude is alive!! This is the "first" web-site that I could get excited about sharing with friends!! I became a Christian (truly meeting Jesus the awesome person, and the God that He IS) "one month" b4 I graduated from bible college - pretty cool story!! 11.4 yrs ago my life was renewed & deepened after reading "New Seeds of Contemplation" by Thomas Merton (a catholic monk! omygod!) A few years ago my life was greatly impacted when a friend introduced me the a mag called "UnionLife" - which (very sadly) stopped a yr or so ago, but they have a website - worth checking out. Many writers (Merton, DeMello, Foster, Tozer, Volkman, etc) contributed to that mag. Well, I'm looking forward to being a new member & receivng the daily newsletter!! Piece!! I am a "young" 56 year old lay woman, with a longing heart and a gift for "hospitality" as Nouwen describes it. My interests/work have included Religious Education (in the Episcopal Church), ecumenism, practice/teaching of meditation, music (instrumental and choral), nurturing intimate relationships, spiritual direction. For 9 years I have been a hospital chaplain. I long for intimate spiritual community, which I seldom find in the church. I lead a small "Circle of Women" which feels somehow powerful, almost revolutionary. I am increasingly drawn to the feminine in spirituality and relationships. I am very concerned about the future of our planet and our species. I believe prayer is THE most essential aspect of life, though its definition is illusive and legion. I try to pray without ceasing, a sense of which has grown out of my daily prayer disciplines. Shalom!

Additional Comment: I ask for help in a work of love. My father-in-law (89, widowed, and living alone) has spent 44 years in an attempt to understand how God created our solar system in particular, and what the pattern of life is, in general. My son has created a web site containing the results of this effort. He does not have a computer, so he calls frequently to find out how many "hits" the site has. Please visit the site. Doing so will affirm and support him; it is http://sites.netscape.net/cdborse/wilber.html. If you enter by leaving off the "/wilber.html" you will see the "castle" he built (hand placing 30 tons of granite), and get a sense of part of his extended family, then use the link at the end of the the page. My thanks to, and prayers for, all who respond.

I am a Christ-centered Quaker, with Catholic sympathies. I went to Catholic School in Spain and have especially appreciated the recent quotes in the Daily Seed from Teresa of Avila. Once I set the poems of Saint John of the Cross to music at the request of a swami from India, who fell in love with the Dark Night of the Soul, a classic collection of St. John's work, poetry I believe he wrote while in "prison" or isolation due to suspicions that he might be heretical. Is that true? I love the Daily Seeds and hope that when I finally get work, I will be able to send support.

Have been reading daily seed past year and have very much enjoyed it. I search for inner peace through reading, sharing, therapy, prayer, self affirmation. I am finding it difficult to change patterns of a lifetime but realize that it is these unhealthy patterns that keep me sick. I work as an intensive care nursery nurse which is in itself a blessing and a curse for the people pleaser that I am

I've been trying to establish a web page busines for a few years but in November I had to quit my other job due to health problems. Since November my roommate and I have been getting by on around $700. She is disabled (cerebral palsy) and cannot work. I think God is trying to teach me to trust him for my daily bread because day by day is how we have been living. Things always work out but at the last minute. Your prayers would be greatly appreciated. My web site is http://www.WeAlsoDoWebPages.com.

I have been born again as a Christian for 14 years, baptised by a Presbyterian Minister by full immersion at my request. I nolonger go to Church because I have found it easier studying the Bible and praying on my own. Now I wish to be part of a fellowship but find going back to a conservative Church Building, unappealing. Prayer and spiritual growth with God is important for me. I am a mother, wife, writer,employee,self-employed direct retailer. I study psychology as a means to understand what I am recovering from (post traumatic syndrome and bi-polar mood disorder) and to be able to help others who need to recover from same or similar disorers. I think the Internet is God Given and we need to take every opportunity we can to use it to be the global village that we are.

I am a 52 year old female with four grown children and five grandchildren to date. I have always been on a spiritual journey, at least, as long as I can remember. I was raised a Catholic, but have always felt a special kinship to Buddhism and Zen philosophies. Recently, after a long hiatus, I have started to attend Sunday liturgy at a local parish were I live. I still wrestle with the Church's dogma a great deal, but find a lot of comfort in the ritual the Church has to offer. I found your web site when looking for information on Thomas Merton. I have always regarded him as a mentor in my journey.
