Lynne:
I echo April's statement...and johnboy's as well. Do set aside time each day...and stick with it. I started off with one period per day..first thing in the am. and when I finally had that established [well, pretty well established]., i added an afternoon period of 15-20 min. in silence. Yet sometimes I simply had to do early evening. Lynne, it is finding the time that works best for you and your schedule. And if it is only one time in the morning, that is better than no time at all. We all start off in small steps...and He meets us with such grace and love.
Another means of vital prayer for me is the Liturgy of the Hours. Dont recall what faith you are, but the Liturgy is Catholic but well used by many non-catholics as well. Also the Rosary is a tremendous help to me as well.
Just had to kick in another viewpoint. Hope you can take what has been said by all and put it into your terms. no matter what, set aside the time. Even if you feel sometimes [for me, it can be often] hitting a tin roof, just keep at it. It is being there with Him that is so important.
Let us hear how you are doing.
Oh, and Lynne, if you show up, so will He! He is so loving and wants so to spend time with you. )
blessings, and grace,
anne
