i try not to focus too much on personalities during liturgies, not those who turn me off and not those who are appealing, inasmuch as both can distract one from the *main event*
still, when i *feel* a negative visceral reaction coming on as regards something said in a homily (which could spew forth from someone who is either too fundamentalist or too liberal per my own perspective), i pray for the assembly, for the presider and for myself and i also leave feeling a little brokenhearted
i try to place *being together* ahead of *being right* but it is a struggle and must be surrendered in prayer constantly
so April, Anne, others --- we await in joyful hope the coming of the Kingdom!
