I'd like to add my 2 cents if it's okay.
There are a few passages from Scripture which I can quote here that may add to the discussion. The first is 1 Tim. 2:11-12, 14, which says "Let a woman learn in quietness in all subjection; But I do not permit a woman to teach or to assert authority over a man, but to be in quietness...And Adam was not deceived; but the woman, having been quite deceived, has fallen into transgression."
Three points here: First, the divine ordination is that the woman is subject to the man, and the man is subject to Christ. This is the order which God has placed us all for the sake of harmony. To place a woman over a man in an authoritative position disrupts this perfect order.
Secondly, as pointed out by Paul in these verses, the woman was tempted by Satan first. Why? Because a woman is the weaker vessel. As such, the woman is more likely to be open to improper or unbiblical teachings than the man.
Finally, although a woman is permitted to prophesy publically (1 Cor. 11:5 and seen in Acts 2:17-18 and 21:9) with her head covered, she is not permitted to teach a man, nor should they interject when a man is speaking. To do so not only shames a woman, but also shames her husband.
All of this does not mean that a woman does not have her portion in ministering to her husband or her children. Quite the opposite, it is the woman's duty to minister to her husband and especially to her children.
