As for Brennan Manning---it has been 6 or 7 years since I read that particular book of his--and that was pre-Catholic days. While finally getting to eat, I perused his last chapter and realized that he had an agenda and it seems that his agenda is not in keeping with Catholicism. Doesn't make him right or wrong, but very different! ;0
Legalism is the pits..I should know--it nearly killed me; or I should say I almost allowed that. But there has to be some rules or society becomes chaotic with everyone wanting 'their' way.
The N.T.--taken as a whole--shows that. I don't have time to go into it all, but taking Jesus out of context of the whole of Scripture..taking Him out of the Tradition which was founded by and upon Him is doing His message an injustice. At least In MY view! ;)
