: Dear Phil and others,

: I've read that web page on US Catholic, and find it pretty liberal. I don't see how a Catholic publication could print such a thing and not be run out of town by the Vatican. . .

Well, Warren, maybe the Church is not so heavy-handed as you would like it to be. I am sure, however, that if this or any magazine sponsored by a religious order was promoting somehting that encouraged people to go against Church teachings, it would be shut down. I did not read that article to be mis-representing the teaching, nor of encouraging us to ignore it. But, since, you did not share what your specific objections to the article were--other than that it is "liberal"--I don't know how else to respond.

As for your reporting all this to your bishop and maybe even to my bishop--have fun! My hope is that these men have more to worry about than an obscure web site recommending a US Catholic magazine article to people.

Take a few deep breaths now, and relax. The Holy Spirit is still in charge.

Phil
