: Christ OS, then, is both evolutionary upgrade, as we have noted numerous times, and it is a fix for a virus-corrupted race. Jesus eats the sin virus, as it were, and deletes it from the race through his death on the cross. I don't think anti-virus programs are quite so sacrificial, but they do end up deleting infected files if they can't fix them.
Well, Philo, if everyone is running Christ OS, presumably from the time of their conception or birth, then why do we still see sin in the world?
Following your own metaphor, then, with Christ OS installed, sin must be an illusion created by our false judgments. If everyone is already justified, then what in the world is going on? What's happening with the operating system when Woody talks about sanctification? when I talk about enlightenment?
And if the salvific efficacy of Christ OS is accomplished, fait accompli, why do you belabor the distinction between enlightenment and Chirstian mystical experience? What's the deal? You have to live in the West and watch football or soccer to have an authentic encounter with God. Everyone who lives in the East, Christ OS installed and notwithstanding, only have second rate encounters?
It seems like the OS works or it doesn't. It's your religion which uses terms like "anonymous Christian". Maybe you folks are anonymous Hindus! If we have the Christ OS installed, how can we be ontologically inferior in our mystical prayer life? Are you saying we're "saved", not to worry, and, btw, you'll learn how to really pray in the next life?
I'm sorry for seeming to suggest there's an element of arrogance floating around here but maybe you could go along way toward clearing this up by explaining what Christ OS does in people of implicit faith.
I'll be patient.
