The Two Ways to Grow

- by Philip St. Romain; all rights reserved

A person is an embodied soul, endowed with intelligence, memory and will. A person is a creature with needs whose fulfillment leads the person into deeper and deeper realizations of what it means to be human. The manner in which we meet our needs, however, determines what kind of person we become.

Basic Human Needs

A. Bodily
  1. Proper nutrition
  2. Proper exercise
  3. Sleep
  4. Shelter/clothing
  5. Medical care when sick

B. Psycho-spiritual
  6. Play/fun/humor
  7. Honest, caring relationships
  8. Sense of choice, freedom
  9. Sense of purpose, meaning
  10. Intellectual stimulation
  11. Aesthetic stimulation
  12. Prayer
  13. Creative Expression

  2. The devil. Satan.
  3. One's own unhealthy conditioning.
